This new edition of El Costurero is dedicated to the world of fashion and sewing. Throughout the pages of this publication, we want to share the great satisfaction you can get when you make a garment for yourself.
All eight designers, whose profiles we have featured this time, show the same passion when they’re in front of their sewing machines. Some have extensive experience in the design sector, such as Chicadecanela or Loulitas and others experiment and have created their own “Textile Laboratory” (La Fibra). Whilst others have discovered that their passion lies in menswear (Marilene d’Sastre) or children (The Indie Cub). They are also recreating clothing from other decades on commission to meet the needs of customers who come to their studio (Andrea Martinez).
In the El Costurero pattern section, we encourage you to create your own wardrobe, by turning old clothes into new ones or discovering how to adapt styles from the 20s, 30s and 40s to more modern patterns, thanks to the fabrics designed by illustrators of the 21st century. If you want to go a step further, you can also learn to make and stamp your own template.
Downloadable patterns with a code are inside the publication.
